DRIVER’S LICENCE SUSPENDED IN ALBERTA? CALL ROADLAWYERS

Under the Alberta Administrative License Suspension Program, since July 2012, anyone charged with:

  • Impaired driving
  • Driving with a BAC “over 80”
  • Failing to provide a breath sample
  • Refusing to provide a breath sample

Has been subject to an immediate and indefinite suspension of his/her driver’s licence, pursuant to the Traffic Safety Act. 


This means that if you are charged with any alcohol-related offence, the Alberta Government will immediately revoke your driving privileges, without any trial. You will not be able to apply for your licence again until your charges have been dealt with before the Courts.

This suspension can be appealed to the Alberta Transportation Safety Board. However, you are under a very short deadline – you only have 30 days to file your appeal application.
