DRIVER’S LICENCE SUSPENDED IN ALBERTA? CALL ROADLAWYERS

If you’re like most people, you can’t afford to have your driver’s licence suspended. Alberta residents say their families and their jobs depend on the ability to legally drive.

Under the Alberta Administrative Licence Suspension Program, since April 9, 2018, anyone charged with:

  • Impaired driving
  • Driving with a BAC over 80
  • Failing to provide a breath sample
  • Refusing to provide a breath sample

is subject to an immediate suspension of their driver’s licence, pursuant to the Traffic Safety Act.

This means that if you are charged with any these related offence the Alberta Government will immediately revoke your driving privileges, without any trial. You will not be able to obtain your licence again until you have served the entire 15 months suspension, unless you are successful in appealing the suspension.

You only have 30 days to file your appeal application. There is a right of appeal, which requires purchase of an appeal form from a vehicle registry office. This form must be received by the Alberta Transpiration Safety Board within 30 days of the date the suspension was imposed.

This is a deadline you cannot afford to miss. If you have been charged, let our team of experienced defence lawyers help you review your information and discuss your options moving forward. We know how important your licence is to you, and it is our primary goal to make sure you get it back as soon as possible.
